Karen is an environmental scientist with 13 years of experience. She has expertise in environmental site management, environmental and ecological investigations, compliance monitoring and the preparation of assessments of environmental effects for consenting purposes. She has previous experience working in local and regional authorities in both consent/RMA compliance and consent processing roles
As a consultant, she has acted as a technical specialist to numerous regulatory authorities and the Environmental Protection Authority and the Ministry for the Environment to assist with RMA processes including consent processing and compliance assessments. She has also worked for a range of private sector clients throughout New Zealand to assist them with a range of projects related to stream and coastal ecology, discharges and associated environmental effects, and resource consent applications.
Karen is a member of the Environmental Institute of Australia and New Zealand, the New Zealand Freshwater Sciences Society and the Resource Management Law Association.
