If you are in your final year of university, you can apply to join PDP as an engineering graduate. Once you complete your studies, you will be ready to start your environmental engineering career with us!
We understand that the first two years of your professional career is a period of significant learning and development. During this time we want to ensure you obtain broad experience and an understanding of the range of services we provide. Building on this foundation, you will develop an area of specialisation and take on more responsibility for projects.
When you first join you will have a buddy to help you find your way around, and you will also be offered the opportunity to join our mentoring programme to help you develop your career and work towards professional registration with CPEng. We are proud to be a Professional Development Partner with IPENZ.
Applications are now closed.
Come and meet us!

“As PDP is a medium sized company, there is a good range of projects which vary in size and type to ensure you are never bored. One of my first jobs involved determining the optimal position of water intake screens and calculating the velocity of water through them to ensure fish wouldn’t be adversely affected by the water intake operations at the site. It was great to be able to work on a real job to see how things are done in the industry.”

“The transition from leaving university to working on proper engineering projects went as smoothly as I could have asked for at PDP. I was paired with a younger engineer who had themselves been in a similar position not so long before which meant I was able to get the help and assistance I required to get me started. I immediately felt welcomed and part of the team rather than given some menial task and told to just work away at it.”

“Being a quality driven person who takes responsibility for my work outputs has allowed me to really succeed here. I have built relationships across the different teams at PDP which has allowed me to work on a variety of projects, including nurturing my
dual passion for low impact stormwater engineering and geotechnical engineering. Working and learning in both of my areas of interest is an opportunity that I am not sure would be available at many other workplaces.”
