Our National Health & Safety Manager Andrew Sussex is into his 8th day in MIQ this week, but he’s going in quite a different direction to many other MIQ inhabitants.  He’s heading to Scott Base next week as part of an expedition to measure basal melting rates of the Ross Ice Shelf.

Andrew will be part of a team of 3 measuring ice thickness at a network of sites based from two remote campsites.  Here he is at Antarctica NZ getting his gear issue, as well as sorting out what needs to be packed once he arrived at MIQ.
