Hayden, Phil and Jen attended the NZ Hydrological Society 2017 Technical Workshop in Dunedin on April 5-6th.

Jen presented on the stormwater pond project she has been working on over the last year with the Auckland Council Healthy Waters Unit. The project involves undertaking bathymetry surveys using an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) and remote-controlled Q boat in order to calculate sediment accumulation volumes to prioritise ponds requiring maintenance works.

The presentation was well received, and Jen was awarded ‘Best Presenter’ for the conference. The prize includes a contribution towards travel costs to present her paper at the 2018 Australia Hydrographer’s Association Conference. The paper was also accepted for the 2017 Water NZ Stormwater Conference, where Jen will be presenting in Auckland next month.
