Congratulations and well done to Ben, Keri, Kyle and Rob, the winning team in the 2011 Wellington Oxfam Water Challenge on Saturday!

The event held on the Wellington waterfront, involved swimming, filling and carrying large water containers as well as various other physical challenges. Our team completed the race in 16 minutes and 21 seconds – almost a minute ahead of the second placed team – and collected and carried 16.6 kg of water across the challenge course. Well done to all involved and thank you to everyone who donated money to assist the team’s fundraising efforts.

The Oxfam Water Challenge is an annual event held at several locations around New Zealand which replicates the daily challenges of gathering water in developing countries and raises money for the Oxfam Water for Survival fund. It is open to those in the water sector, as well as any related organisations including charitable groups.
